Vision, Misson, Values
VISION: The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association will be a leader in building the arts community in the Mt. Washington Valley.
MISSION: The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association is an independent, community focused, non-profit organization which exists to promote the study, appreciation, and display of the visual arts, particularly the art of the Mt. Washington Valley.
The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association exists to:
- Provide educational opportunities for the study, appreciation and practice of fine arts and crafts to artists and community members of all ages and abilities.
- Provide artists and craftspeople opportunities for the display, marketing, and sale of their work in a wide variety of styles and mediums from traditional to contemporary.
- Promote an understanding and appreciation of the rich artistic history of the White Mountain region from the 1800s to the present.
- Promote the Mt. Washington Valley region as a destination for visual arts and culture.
VALUES: The values of community, leadership, and growth underscore the vision and mission of the Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association.
- Community includes the mutual support among association members; building the arts community in the Mt. Washington Valley; giving back to the community in various ways.
- Leadership includes becoming a leader in building the Mt. Washington Valley’s arts community; creating collaborations for events and programs among the Valley’s arts organizations; taking the arts to new places in the community; becoming a public voice and advocate for the arts locally, regionally and at a state level; increasing the number of opportunities for local residents to experience, enjoy and increase their appreciation of the arts.
- Growth includes expanding the association membership, the number of events and programs, and the MWVAA’s presence in the community; being a fiscally sound and sustainable organization.
