The MWV Arts Association’s Main Street Art Gallery is highlighting the artwork of Mary Borowski of Nashua, NH on Friday, September 22nd from 4-8 pm with a reception. The public is cordially invited to attend.
The theme of Mary Borowski’s display at the gallery is “Nature-Up Close” where she will be showing off her love of nature – plants, birds and landscapes- in her watercolor and oil paintings, photographs and nature journals. Included in her display at the gallery will be many of her nature journals, where she combines beautifully rendered watercolors with writings – poetry, music lyrics and scientific information. Borowski describes journaling as a fun activity for kids and adults alike and a great way to connect with the outdoors, to study and observe nature.
Born in Annapolis Maryland to a Navy family, she was exposed to the wonderful sights all along the East Coast from Virginia to New Hampshire and was drawn to both lake and ocean settings.
Borowski attended the University of NH, graduated with a BS in Art Education and has taught art and photography at a Windham, NH private school for seven years. Since then, she has worked as a display artist until her retirement in 2014 when she returned to her art passions in earnest – painting and photography. With a thirst for knowledge and skill building in art, she has taken many watercolor classes with Patty Dean of Vermont, oil painting with Grace Cooper of New London and Nature Journaling with Becky Darling of Warner and most recently, Oil Painting with Ron Brown of Wilmot.
After retirement, Borowski also started a photo greeting card business called, “Mary B Creations”, using her many photos of special “Moments in Time”. These images have been captured during her travels throughout New England. It brings her much joy to share her “finds” with others.
