We’re excited to have you in class!
Before registering, please review our class policies:
Registration: Registration is accepted until the class is full. Class size is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payment: Tuition and fees must be paid in full at the time or registration by cash, check or credit card. Registration is not complete until payment is received. If you need to send a check by mail, we will hold your registration for 5 days until payment is received. Tuition will not be prorated. It is the individual’s responsibility to attend all classes.
Confirmation: You are officially registered for a class when your payment and completed registration form are received. You will receive confirmation and materials list (if the class has one) by email or mail.
Refunds: Withdrawal from a class more than 14 days prior to the start of the class will result in a tuition refund less a $10.00 administration fee. If withdrawal is less than 14 days prior to the start of the class and the spot can be filled, tuition will be refunded less the $10.00 administration fee. If the spot cannot be filled there is no refund. All refunds will be in the form of a check. There are no refunds for missed classes. Memberships purchased at the time of registration are non-refundable.
Cancellation of Classes: The MWVAA reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet minimum enrollment. Students will receive notification of the cancellation and have the choice of a full refund or credit toward a future class. In the case of bad weather, all Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association classes will be cancelled when SAU 9 cancels classes or closes school early. If in doubt, please call 603-356-2787 for a recorded message or contact your instructor. When classes are cancelled due to bad weather, instructor illness or conditions beyond our control, the cancelled classes will be rescheduled.
Photographs: The MWVAA may take photographs of students during classes to use in advertising and promotion. Should you object to having your picture or your child’s picture used for these purposes, please let us know at the time of registration.
Watercolors for the Absolute Beginner

One sheet of Arches watercolor paper will be provided. A supply list will be handed out and discussed at the first session
Try out watercolors for the first time or “brush-up” on your basic skills. Experienced watercolor instructor Sharon Soule returns to the art association by popular demand! Students should be able to attend all four class sessions, which will cover different topics:

Session 1 (Sept 9) Learn about the best materials to use and why.

Session 2 (Sept 16) Learn the vocabulary used in watercolor painting and the most common techniques.

Session 3 (Sept 23) Students will paint a still life to learn about shape and light.

Session 4 (Sept 30) Students will paint a landscape that focuses on perspective, color and values.

Discover Pastels
with Sarah Eastman

Discover the vibrant world of pastel painting in this introductory workshop designed for beginners and the pastel-curious alike. Participants will learn about different types of pastels, recommended papers, and essential techniques while creating two finished pastel paintings during class. No experience is necessary — just bring your curiosity and enjoy experimenting with this unique medium.
All supplies will be provided, though students are welcome to bring their own dry pastels if they have them.
