The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association presents Summer’s Glow, an exhibition inviting artists to explore the warmth, color, and atmosphere of summer in all its forms. From the golden light on the Presidential Range to quiet moments on a porch, lakeside reflections, village streets, blooming gardens, hiking trails, campfires, and celebrations of community, this exhibition seeks artwork inspired by the beauty and spirit of the season.
The exhibition will be on view through Tuesday, October 6, with a “Meet the Artists” celebration on Saturday, July 18 from 4–6 p.m. This reception will also sneak peeks into upcoming workshops (from the instructors themselves!) and a special talk from open impressionist artist Shelly Watson.
The show features the work of more than 40 local artists. Resident artists exhibiting a significant body of work include Lizzy Berube, Sarah Eastman, Joanne Gallant, Rosemary Gerbutavich, Bob Grant, Karen Lord, Sandi Poor, Shelly Watson, and Wendy Wells. Additional exhibiting artists include Martha Aucoin, Jack Bender, Meghan Sophia Bernier, James Cryan, Jan Eskedal, Don Gemmecke, John Girouard, Laura Guptill, Tabitha Hale, Nancy Hall, Amanda Hayford, Julie L’Heureux, Brenda McCarty, Lucy T. Merrow, Maryellen Moran, James O’Donnell, Barbara Perry, Lori Stearns, Alexis Stefano, and Laura S. Thomson.
The association also proudly welcomes new member artists Cam Eldon, Zoe Groves, Amanda Hayford, Kim Mullen, and Anthony Petchkis, all of whom are exhibiting at the gallery for the first time.
For this exhibition, the association is especially excited to introduce its inaugural Community Guest Artist Wall, a new initiative designed to foster collaboration and connection across local creative groups. Thanks to a collaboration with the North Country Camera Club this season’s featured artists include photographers Bill Brochu, Joe Burgess, Judy Burgess, John Hoffman, Pat Hoffman, Lynda Mahoney, and Tricia Moody
The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association has been promoting the arts in our community since the 1960s through events, classes, and the annual Art in the Park fine art festival. The association’s gallery is open year-round at 16 Norcross Circle (behind the new Sap House Meadery) and features the work of more than 40 local artists. The gallery is open six days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Wednesdays). The 54th Annual Art in the Park will be September 26 & 27, 2026 in Schouler Park.
