Art In The Park – August 3 & 4

The 52nd annual Art in the Park returns to Schouler Park in North Conway Village.

Saturday, August 3 & Sunday, August 4
Saturday:10 am to 4pm
Sunday: 10 am to 3pm
North Conway Community Center, North Conway Village, NH

The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association will be presenting their 52nd annual Art in the Park festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th. The event will be held at the North Conway Community Center, just south of Schouler Park. The festival features fine art and fine crafts from regional artists, music, food vendors, cash awards, and new this year, a kids activity area.

Artists from all over New England have been participating in Art in the Park for 52 years. Fine artists in various mediums, photographers, sculptors and fine crafters will be displaying and selling their creations. Many of the artists are nationally known like Phil Jacobs’ blown glass works. Many of the artists are locally known like beloved photographer Bob Grant.

Artists will be choosing their best piece for the judges on Saturday morning. They will be displayed inside the community center for all to view. The judges will decide on their favorites and awards will be announced in the early afternoon, an exciting time for all. Peter Abate from Rochester NH has been our judges coordinator for decades and will be assisting a new group of judges for this year’s show.

Artists will be spread out throughout the community center’s campus – 24 artists will be within the gymnasium, 20 artists will be on the west side under a large tent and other artists will be in their pop up tents, scattered along the Rt 16 side. DJ Kristen will be making announcements and spinning tunes throughout the two days, setting a festive fun mood. All price points of art will be displayed at the festival, from unique “best of show” quality artworks to affordable prints and cards or a unique set of earrings or clay ornaments. There is something for everyone’s budget.

The food vendors will include Linda’s Hot Dogs, Mr.Twister Pretzels, Dave’s Lemonade and Kettle Corn and the community center’s ice cream treats.

The festival wouldn’t be possible without a generous grant from the Goldberg Foundation. The art show on Saturday runs from 10am until 4 pm and Sunday from 10 am until 3 pm. We hope to see you at this family friendly festival. For more information, please visit us at www.mwvarts.org or call our gallery at 603-356-6150.
