I have lived in Mount Washington Valley for 34 years and established myself as a professional musician and voice teacher. I hold a masters degree in performance in classical voice and I currently teach at the University of Southern Maine, for Mountain Top Music School in Conway, NH and at my studio in Fryeburg. I have a long and diverse history in the arts as a composer, performer and theatrical director, working with casts made up of children, as well as adults.
In 2016, I began my journey working with color in a variety of mediums , creating art using watercolor, oils, acrylic, alcohol ink, charcoal and soft pastels. In 2016, I began painting En Plein Air with the Mount Washington Valley Friday painters and the following Summer, I became a juried artist . My desire to paint is inspired by mood, color and the expression of the face. I am eager to paint daily. I consider myself a painter who is all over the map as I prefer to vary my style and subject. I have a thirst for developing new skills and taking on a challenge. Most recently, I have been fascinated with portrait work. Teachers that have inspired me and have learned from are are Michael Chesley Johnson, Lian Quan Zen, Alan Picard, Cynthia Rosen and Marla Baggetta.
My paintings have been shown in the past at The Met in North Conway, Ellis River Gallery, Art in the Park, The Conway Public Library, M&D Playhouse and at the MWVAA Gallery. I regularly post online and have done several commission works, thanks to Facebook.
