“Celebrating the Seasons” at Main Street Art Gallery

The seasons are changing in all their beauty. How often in the year can you see two seasons at once!?  The new show, “Celebrating the Seasons”, at Main Street Art Gallery in Norcross Place illustrates those magical times in the Mt Washington Valley when you see fall and winter together. Among the examples are Don Onusseit’s oil painting “Pinkham Notch”, Laura Guptill’s acrylic painting “The Edge of Winter” and Jim O’Donnell’s oil painting “First Snow”. Two realistic and one abstract versions of these rare occurrences. Come see for yourself.

The gallery is filled with 27 fine artists and 3 fine crafters. The current Residents Room artists include Sarah Eastman, Rosemary Gerbutavich, Jim O’Donnell, Laura Guptill, Sandi Poor, Jan Eskedal, Mary Ellen Moran, Corky Newcomb, Karen Lord, Lucy Merrow and Barbara Perry. In the rest of the gallery are 21 more fine artists and 4 fine crafters. We have a style of art that suits all tastes, from very realistic work to colorful expressive abstract art as well as many affordable cards and prints.

In this show, we welcome new artists Nancy Hall with her acrylic florals and  Corky Newcomb with his wildlife photography including many black bears. If you like BIG and bold paintings, be sure to check out local artist Bruce Grubb’s recent works and Mary Ellen Moran’s impressionistic works. And our fine crafters offer a mix of artful and useful creations – Barbara Anderson’s handmade clayworks, Maria Testa’s silk scarves, Debony Thorne’s glass jewelry, globes and trays and Laura Guptill’s jewelry.

The art show runs until January 3rd. An opening reception will be held Saturday, October 21st from noon to 4pm. with refreshments served. Come meet the artists and enjoy this seasonal show.

The gallery is located in Norcross Place, adjacent to Sawyer River Trading Company and is open Thursday and Sunday 11am until 4pm. Shop locally and support small businesses. For more information call 603-356-2787.
