A Basic Acrylic Painting Workshop for Beginners November 14, 15 and 21 from 1:30 to 4:30 at the North Conway Community Center.
The Mt Washington Valley Arts Association is pleased to offer an art class for anyone interested in learning how to create an acrylic painting from start to finish with Nancy Hall. This three day class is offered on November 14, 15 and 21 from 1:30 to 4:30 at the North Conway Community Center. This workshop will walk you through the steps of creating your own painting from a picture. You can expect a hands on, fun way to explore acrylic painting.
On November 14th, students will learn basic acrylic painting techniques. They will explore basic color theory, practice mixing paint for your palette, and experience ways to apply paint to a canvas.
On November 15th, students will learn the different ways to draw or transfer a picture onto the canvas. Looking at your individual pictures, they will explore the various ways to take a simple picture and create an interesting composition for them to paint. Most students will begin painting during this session.
On November 21st, the class will be devoted to helping students successfully complete their painting. This will be a time to ask questions and get individual guidance, all part of the learning process.
As a painter and a teacher, Hall encourages positive exchange between students. They learn so much by moving around, sharing ideas, questions and comments. Even if this is not a masterpiece, students will complete the workshop knowing they have all the skills necessary to explore and have fun with acrylic painting.
Materials to bring include one or two pictures to use for your subject and a back stapled canvas either 9×12, 12×12 or 10×14 inches. All other supplies will be provided. The cost for the three workshops is $135, payable in advance. To register online use the button below or email us at email@example.com.
