A masterpiece is defined as “ a work of outstanding artistry, skill or workmanship”
The MWV Arts Association is pleased to open its gallery doors on Saturday, November 23rd from noon to 5pm for a Mini Masterpiece Show and Sale.
About a month ago, our gallery artists were invited to create a small work of art on an 8” by 8” canvas. Oil and acrylic painters were delighted with the assignment; painters in other mediums were challenged to figure out how to work with a canvas support. All the artists brainstormed how to fit a masterpiece on such a small canvas. Come by and see these small artistic wonders.
Each mini will be sold for an affordable price of $95 each. Such a deal for such a masterpiece! A wonderful gift giving idea created by our local and regional artists. The gallery will be all dressed up for the season and offering refreshments and good cheer for all.
In addition to the mini masterpieces being affordable, the gallery also offers many other small affordable items – clay ornaments, jewelry, barrettes, and many cards and prints. The gallery’s Change of Seasons show is still on display through the end of the year, filled with images of nature’s beauty in fall and winter.
Among the Resident Artists for this show are Sarah Eastman, Barbara Perry, Karen Lord, Sandi Poor, Don Gemmecke, Rosemary Gerbutavich, Jim O’Donnell, Lori Stearns, Isaac Rader and Bob Grant where you will see paintings in all mediums, subjects and style as well as photography, including many that have been creatively computer enhanced. Our fine crafters include Barbara Anderson’s clayworks, Debony Thorne’s glasswork and silver jewelry by Laura Guptill and Cynthia McInerny.
For nearly a decade, MWV Art Gallery has been showcasing award winning artists from New England who are locally and nationally known, high quality fine artists and fine craftsmen, in a convenient North Conway Village location. The gallery is located at 16 Norcross Circle, adjacent to the Sawyer River Trading Company and is open Thursday through Sunday from 11am until 4 pm.
