The MWV Arts Association’s Main Street Art Gallery is highlighting the artworks of Laura Guptill and Sarah Eastman with a reception on Saturday, November 11th from 1-3pm.
Laura Guptill
Guptill is a well known local jeweler for over 45 years and has a large following for both her jewelry and her oil and acrylic paintings. She is a board member of the Mt Washington Valley Arts Association, her paintings are primarily landscapes and animals, sometimes done in contemporary impressionism. Guptill creates handcrafted artisan jewelry using Sterling Silver, Gold and mixed metals and enamel. Both her jewelry and paintings are available for purchase at the gallery. Sarah Eastman
Eastman had a career as an art educator in the MWValley, then retired in 2015 to devote most of her time on her own artworks. She prefers watercolors and pastels and depicts the constantly changing beauty in the shapes, colors, textures and light that nature provides – landscapes, flowers and animals are her preferred subjects. Eastman loves the contrast between the two mediums of watercolor and pastel – both in their appearance and method of application. Eastman has many prints available for purchase as well as her original paintings. Like Guptill, she is also a board member of the MWV Arts Association.
