Lucy Merrow Open House
The MWV Arts Association’s Main Street Art Gallery is highlighting the varied artworks of Lucy Merrow on Saturday, February 11th from 12 to 4 pm with an Open House.
Merrow has been painting since the age of nine when she learned to mix colors from a Belgian artist. Later, at the University of New hampshire, she studied art with John Hatch. Since then, she has taken numerous community art classes and recently a drawing series with the MWV Arts Association.
Merrow likes to paint landscapes, buildings and local scenes. The colors and shadows in nature are constantly changing and she delights in capturing their beauty in scenes familiar to people who live and vacation in the area. Her medium is oil on canvas and finds enjoyment and satisfaction in very fine brushwork to create realistic details.
Merrow is also an organic gardener, each year growing a yard full of bountiful vegetables as well as colorful flowers.
Merrow accepts commission work at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The public is welcome to meet the artist and enjoy the fine arts gallery. Refreshments will be served. Main Street Art Gallery is located next to Sawyer River Trading Company, behind the MET Coffeehouse, North Conway Village. For more information, call 603-356-2787
