“Frosty Air” Show at Main Street Art Gallery

Brrrrr, it’s cold outside. Winter weather has finally arrived and the artists at Main Street Art Gallery are celebrating all the season’s beauty. There you will find a painting depicting the Saco River with a snow covered Mt Washington in the background; a frozen soap bubble photograph; a sunset with snow covered trees; an ice fisherman trying his luck and a rural scene of glistening snow. These are some of the artworks on display now. Get out of the cold and warm up in our gallery and treat yourself to this wintry display.

In the resident’s rooms are Maryellen Moran, Sandi Poor, Bill Fein, Bob Grant, Barbara Perry, Kathleen Gilligan, Sarah Eastman, Rosemary Gerbutavich, Jon Girouard and Lucy Merrow. Their work includes a wide variety of mediums – oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, photographs and melted wax and crayons – and a mix of styles – realistic, abstract, impressionistic, social commentaries and more.

In this show, we welcome back photographer Bob Grant, who has been showing his photographs for decades in the valley and has recently returned to our gallery. Be sure to see his stunning photographs from around the valley and around the world. And our fine crafters offer a mix of artful and useful creations – Barbara Anderson’s handmade clayworks, Debony Thorne’s glass jewelry, globes and trays and Laura Guptill’s jewelry.

Want something affordable? We have many small artworks, matted prints and greeting cards to offer.

The art show runs until April 3rd. An opening reception is scheduled on Saturday, January 20th from noon to 4pm. The gallery is located in Norcross Place, adjacent to Sawyer River Trading Company and is open Thursday through Sunday 11am until 4pm. Shop locally and support small businesses.
