On the Road Again at Main Street Art Gallery

Come celebrate summer with us! The new show, “On the Road Again”, at Main Street Art Gallery in Norcross Place is all about the sights, smells and sounds of summer – kids having fun under a sprinkler, boats bobbing in the ocean, robin eggs ready to hatch, flowers putting on a show and the frustration of TOO MUCH RAIN. All captured artfully by our artists.

The gallery is filled with 39 fine artists and 3 fine crafters. The current Residents Room artists include Mary Borowski’s oils and watercolors, Terri Brooks’ watercolors, Don Gemmecke’s acrylics, Julie L’Heureux and Karen Lord’s photographs, Lucy Merrow and Maryellen Moran’s oils and watercolors by Barbara Perry and Sandi Poor. In the rest of the gallery are 19 more fine artists and 4 fine crafters. We have a style of art that suits all tastes, from very realistic work to colorful expressive abstract art.

In this show, we welcome Karen Haskell, Rowena Limauro, and Alexis Steffano who are new to the gallery. Many of our artists have won shows on a national level. Check out our talented local artists – Jean Bradley’s bold tropical colors and Terri Brooks’ large multi-layered watercolors. Our regional artists include Mary Borowski, Karen Haskell, Sharon Allen, Jim O’Donnell.  And our fine crafters offer a mix of artful and useful creations – Barbara Anderson’s handmade clayworks, Maria Testa’s silk scarves and Debony Thorne’s glass jewelry, globes and trays. These are just a few of our talented artists and craftsmen.

Summer is a time of vacations, relaxation and fun in the sun. Our gallery has been renewed with freshly painted walls, a new hanging system and we are air conditioned! The art show runs until October 4th. An opening reception will be held Friday, July 21st from 4-8pm with refreshments served. Come meet the artists and enjoy this fabulous show.

The gallery is located in Norcross Place, adjacent to Sawyer River Trading Company and is open Friday and Saturday from 12 to 8pm,Thursday and Sunday 11am until 4pm. Shop locally and support small businesses. For more information, go to mwvarts.org or call 603-356-2787.
